Exactly this situation was encountered several months ago. The program
was 3D-Logo from ByteWorks. Evidently, System 6.0.1 failed to implement an
expected feature (i.e. a Desktop file). Programs which expect to update
Desktop end up bombing some icon filetype info.
Try this: First, restore your icon stuff so that everything works
correctly. Rename an icon file to "Desktop". Now, there is a Desktop file
to update.
It would be nice to have some idea of just what's happening; but, at
least, the fix seems to work. Running Print 3200 should no longer mess up
your filetypes.
