System Saver IIgs: Need rec for quiet fan

I have a Kensington System Saver IIgs.  The fan on SS IIe sounds fine.
But the fan on SS IIgs sounds like a rumbling toy.   This sound triggers
derisive comments from IBM-types who visit.

I would like to replace the fan inside System Saver IIgs with a better fan
that does not "rumble."

Questions:

(a) Can the fan inside System Saver IIe be transplanted into System Saver 
IIgs?   Is there enough space, and will it mount correctly?  (I have several
System Saver IIe units "in retirement" gathering dust on a shelf.)

(b) If a new fan must be purchased, what is recommended? 
(brand/price.supplier).

(c) Any complications to open the casing of SS IIgs?
