I was just trying to write something that addressed the current
anti-Internet backlash in the popular press.
But the truth of the matter is that I haven't written anything of a
socio-political nature since my college days 20+ years ago, and I didn't
really know whether my words would be successful in conveying some
thoughts about the net that have been running through my head ever since
giving my talk at this year's Kfest.
I guess that's the major reason that I didn't want to run the article in
Shareware Solutions II. So, I posted it online, and placed no restrictions
on it. Maybe some Apple II User Group newsletter editors can make use of
it?
