I replaced ProDos (system 1.0) with GS/OS (system 6.0) in the Prodos partition 
of /HARD1 on my 10MB sider with no problems.  I did not have to upgrade ROM.  
(However, it is still a multi-OS drive where I boot into DOS then kick off 
"ProDos" [now really GS/OS] from the Sider menu.)

Your mileage may vary....
