Borken Computer
My Apple//e broke down yesterday. I do believe that I saw a spark last night,
and I heard a sound which sounded like a light bulb burning out. Now, when
I turn on the apple or reboot, I go to the internal test (which happens when
Solid-Apple-control-reset is hit), and after a while it says "System OK".
But it's obviously not OK, because my floppies never get seeked for a disk
to boot off. In fact, I can do absolutely nothing with my Apple except for
running that internal test.
Does anybody know why this happened? Exactly what is broke? How
does it get fixed? Etc...?
Because I am not a regular reader of this group, please reply E-mail to

I've just found a BASIC program which I believe will allow me to access
my modem, which would allow me to make a connection to my PC and
use some programs and blah blah blah and I think I can now get my
Apple programs to my PC so I can run them under my emulator. But now
that my Apple's broke, I can't do this! Argh! Please, help! This is
infuriating me!
