Hi Jason.. 
The card essentially turns your II or II compatable (or /// for that matter)
into another computer.. a CP/M computer. CP/M was an OS used in the early days
(late 70s through mid 80s???). You might recognize it today as the original
MS DOS. MicroSoft basically took CP/M and reworked it (and is still doing so,
though not very well ....:)     ). Anyhoo.. you can still find WordStar and 
some other CP/M programs out there - I think there may still be a UG or two
that supports it in one form or another (look in the back of Computer Shopper
perhaps...).
