Does this explain why the /dts directory (which contained 8-bit
system software, GS System 5.0.4, 6.0, 6.0.1 and all tech-notes, etc)
is now empty on ftp.apple.com? It seems Apple is making an effort to
purge any and all traces of the Apple II from the company, in fact I
spoke with nearly a dozen persons at Apple Canada over the past month
concerning an upgrade for my Apple //c. Not _ONE_ person even knew
what an Apple II was, although eventually a I found a message on my
answering machine, from Apple, telling me they haven't had parts or
service for that system in years, and pointed me towards Quality
Computers if I wanted support (much good that would do). This took
a couple of weeks of pestering, and I still never got the answer to
my question, just a polite response telling me to go away...
Back on the subject of online support, I should point out tough
that the 'Apple Tech Info Library' has now been reorganized so that you
can easily locate information files on the Apple II, III and Lisa! To
access it, use Gopher and jump to the University of Minnesota, select
'Computer Information' and then select 'Apple Tech Info Library' (with
some Gopher clients, select other Gopher servers around the world, then
to North America, USA, Minnesota and finally to University of Minn.).
Here's a sample:

Apple Tech Info Library
1. A UX/
2. About the Tech Info Library/

4. Apple II Software/
5. Apple III Software and Hardware/

This should really be added to the Apple II FAQ file (is it?), as there's
quite a wealth of information here and navagating it is exteremly simple,
just select the topic using the up/down arrows and press return. There is
much information available here I've not seen anywhere else (ie, reference
to two version of ROM 3 firmware, Apple III hardware info, etc).
