No, it is not possible to do this.  There is no standardized setting for
volume, beyond the setting for the internal speaker.  All existing
programs would have to be re-written to support such a thing, which isn't
real likely to happen.  And bass and treble controls would be completely
impossible lacking a stereo card with some fairly specialized hardware
(ideally a DSP, but you could probably kludge it through other means).
