RenderinGS demo is now available!
For those of you eager to see the 3D graphics engine I have been talking
about, check out the demo I've posted to comp.binaries.apple2. It's more or
less the full program, but set up to demonstrate one small world automatically
so that it can just be launched from the Finder.
You won't need GNO/ME to run the demo, but you will need a Second Sight video
board. The demo runs in 15-bit colour, although the texture maps aren't all
that colourful so you may be forgiven for not noticing :-)
The demo allows you to move around the world like you would in Doom, although
at 10 seconds per frame on an accelerated GS, it's a bit of a slow crawl around
the world :-) However, this will improve as I continue working on the program.
Most of the demo is written in C, which should indicate how much optimisation
there is to be done.
Enjoy the demo!
