Hi!
	So, another one of those cheap Apple II users, huh?  How could 
you?  ;)  J/K  Actually, I'm just as cheap as you, I bought my 2400 modem 
for about 27 dollars.  

	So, you're looking for a cheap or free alternative to Comm 
System.  First thing, go to the FTP sites at either: grind.isca.uiowa,edu 
or ftp.cco.caltech.edu.  Then get into the section where they have comm 
programs.  Now as you have a GS (I use a IIe, by the way), you might have 
more choices in terms of programs.  However, just to let you, know, I 
have download Kermit, Agate, and Zlink.  All of them support VT-100, 
though how much of the features they'll support on your GS is unknown.  
Kermit is not too good for me, I don't like the user interface.  Agate 
works fine and I like it, but the downloading features confuse me a bit, 
maybe I should read the docs more!  :)  If you want a good program, try 
Zlink, it's probably the best of the bunch.  It's simple to use, with a 
help menu, and some other features you might find useful, and of course 
it has the VT-100 emulation you are looking for. 

	You didn't mention it, but you do need Shrinkit, a GS version, I 
would assume to get the program to work, so I don't know if you have it 
or not, but if you don't go get it.
