Well, you just sort of explain it yourself. It is a consumer reports' resource
guide. I personally like SSII, but not as much as other Apple II publications.
Maybe I have some suggestions:

1) I think the layout can be improve to enhance the image. A more modular
   design rather than just let the text flows will be better.

2) Use 1 point smaller (well, that's subjective) for text. When introducing
   a product, some screenshots are preferred.

3) Go beyond "consumer" level and add some information for programmers or
   artists, for example. I would love to know how to use certain software,
   learn some tips (not just eastereggs). And I would like to see feedbacks,
   reviews or suggestions for new/old software.

btw, thanks for still supporting Apple II.
