The good  news is that the AE HD drive can format 1.44 disks. the bad new 
is that it requires the Apple 3.5 Controler card.  There has been a rumor 
oa third party making a 3.5 controler card that works with Apple drives, 
but I haven't heard anything new.

Perhaps it would be less expensive to get a blue card and an ibm comp. 
3.5 drive?

p.s. The shareware msdos utilities will work with an AEHD connected to 
the Apple 3.5 controler.
