Have you tried reseating the socket chips? There may be a intermittant
bad connection that, as the machine warms up, becomes a good one. I had
a similar problem years ago, and reseating the chips fixed it.
Besure to take the normal proecautions for working around chips (i.e. no
static electricity buildup. power off, etc.)
