I use a Linelink 144e on both my GS and my messyDos 386. I got it from
MacWarehouse a couple YEARS ago for $99, with cable that directly
connects to the GS modem port. It communicates at 14,400 and faxes
(from the IBM only for me, I do not have the new fax software for the
GS, which I have seen a zillion msgs on bugs).
If you can handle 2400 speed, I have an external Datalink Express Send
Fax Modem for the GS that modems at 2400 and send faxes at 4800, and
includes WORKING software to send faxes from the GS to any fax machine.
$50.
