If memory serves, to switch from Appletalk to Serial use in the IW II, you
need to swap some dip switches inside the printer.  And vice-versa to
switch back.  It might be easier to do one of the following:

        A) buy anotther Imagewriter II
        B) buy a localtalk card for the IIe

Sequential Systems may well have another option available too - may want
to give them a call (800 759 4549) and see.
