There's a patch for Proterm 3.1 which makes it more appletalk-tolerable, I've
used it and have no problems. Of course, my IIgs has a Courier 2400e modem
attached, with DTE at 9600. Not really fast enough to cause problems. On
my Quadra, I notice that the pointer gets jumpy and the modem can lose chars
when I access server volumes on it via localtalk. Not so with ethernet, mucho
higher throughput and no machine slowdown.
