I've recently been in touch with WDC. I called them to find out if there 
was any truth to the rumor that they had dropped the minumum $100 order. 
I also asked if it would be OK with them if I printed the response in 
Shareware Solutions II.

The response was not exactly what I expected. They didn't want me to 
publicize what they told me. Basically, their customers are companies 
that order thousands or hundreds of thousands of chips at a time, and 
they find that it's a hassle to send out one chip at a time.

As a responsible journalist, I'm not going to publicize what they 
told me.

But, I will tell you this...if you contact WDC, you'll be pleased with 
what you hear.
