The drivers for various modems are locked so that the maximum setting is
not faster than that model of modem's top speed. Try setting it up as a
null modem. You should then be able to set the port speed faster.
You should also consider purchasing the latest version of ProTERM. I
think the older versions have trouble keeping up with a 14.4 Kbps
modem at top speed.
