Thanx for the info...I ought to be able to cobble together an adapter to get
my printer working. (The card's DB-25 connector is attached through a
ribbon cable and a 26-pin IDC to the card...maybe I'll just build an
"IBM-compatible" replacement cable and see how that works.)

The documentation that came with my Linux box's IDE/FD/serial/parallel/game
card lists five inputs: acknowledge (active low), busy, paper out, select,
and error. The cable pinout you provided ties error to bit 3, paper out to
bit 5, select to bit 6, and an unknown signal to bit 7.
