HELP: Apple // program on a Mac/PC ?

My father works for a company which is still using an Apple // to run
one of their machines.  Up here in Vancouver at least, there's not a
whole lot of companies that sell/deal with Apple //'s, so they'd like
to upgrade to something a little more recent.

I've read the FAQ, and it mentioned something about an Apple //
emulator card that was available for Macs.  My question is, would this
enable the Mac to run the Apple // program that they're currently
using?  Any information would be appreciated,
