$600?  That must be US $.  Here in Canada they went for around $800+tax 
with Disk ][ interface card. A friend of mine, after buying the Disk ][, 
then had to shell out another $300 for 16K RAM to bring his Apple up to
48K!  It ran in 32K, but that extra 16K was gold.
