Hmmmmmm.... Where have you been hiding?  The Apple // series will support 
up to 19.2K with a stock Super Serial card. I have a LineLink 144e hooked 
to my //gs and an Everex 9600 on my //e both work fine. I have heard 
people discussing higher speeds, but these include add on boards for the 
Super Serial card. If you have a Super Serial Card in your Apple // then 
all you need is a new fast modem. Most of the old Apple manuals were 
written when 1200 bps was considered fast.
