Could be, but I think they'd have been better off if they had
held on to the IIe a little longer, and come out with the
IIe card for the MAC _instead of_ the IIGS, which was on
a dead end path from its inception. (BTW, I LOVE my 2 IIGSs,
I'm speaking from the corporate standpoint) Back in '87 or
whenever it was that I bought my GS, I'd have certainly
bought a MAC with a IIe card had it been available, (and
of course I'm postulating that many others would have also).
Had that been done, I (and others?) would have painlessly made the
transition from the II to the MAC that Apple wanted me to
make anyway. However, the state of the company at that
time was, by all accounts I've read, very devisive and
competitive (nastily competetive), so such a cooperation
couldn't have happened.
