I posted a couple of days ago that I was having trouble with my Video
Overlay Card. Here's an update:
PROBLEM: When NTSC video applied, IIgs video went nuts.
ACTIONS TAKEN: Yank boards, shut down INITs and DA's, etc. etc. etc.
This morning, I pulled the computer out of its home under my desk and took
it to work with me. There, I hooked it up to the GS monitor, keyboard,
mouse, power, etc. on my desk there, and plugged a VTR into the VOC.
Result? A beautiful overlay.
I've since brought the thing home and hooked it up. Right now, as I type
this, I'm looking at gorgeous video of Kentucky Kingdom amusement park.
Very strange. All I did was give it a ride across town in the trunk of my
car. But it's working now...!
It's a little jittery, but I did fool with the controls today as well. I
thought I was getting garbage at the top of the screen, and it turned out
to be encoded VBI data on the videotape I was watching (i.e. change tapes
and the garbage goes away). No wonder I couldn't make it go away!
