I don't know if AWGS provides this capability, but if you can save 
spreadsheets as SYLK format, that will preserve formulae. Steve is
correct that a plain tab or csv ascii file will contain only values,
not formulae, which often makes the whole exercise pointless. SYLK
files are ascii text too, of course and so can be read (almost) anywhere.
