I did this to connect to my BBS from my roomies mac, but instead of ATO,
I used ATD.  For any of you Metal people, I was using FV v4.1b5 and
Metal v1.09.b5 and _got the correct modem response code_ with
RINGHELP=<ON>!  I can never get (modem(6)) to be a non-zero value
with RINGHELP=<ON>.  Oh, USR Sportster 14.4k on my end, LineLink on
the Mac.
