WordPerfect IIgs Macros

According to both the manual and a third party book, there are two ways 
to create macros in WordPerfect 2.x for the GS: the normal one, where you 
type a filename for the macro, and the one where you press the option key 
and a letter as the macro's name. I have been unable to get the second 
method to work! I have tried it with the keyboard translation option set 
to both "Standard" and "Normal," and under both System 5.0.4 and 6.0.1. I 
have had no trouble doing the equivalent OA-macros in WordPerfect for the 
//e and //c, by the way.

My question is: has anyone managed to do this with GS WordPerfect? Were 
you using the same version as me (2.1)? If so, what settings make it work 
for you?
