Actually, isn't there a cable adapter out there to allow the Disk ]['s to
work with the 5.25 drive controller (DB-19 to 2x20-pin header)?  With that
beast, it should be possible to connect a pair of Disk ]['s to a GS
SmartPort...or for that matter, to the DB-19 on the back of a 3.5" drive!
