Well my RCA tube has three sets of line inputs, and you put it on channel 91
for the first, 92 for the second, and 93 for the third. I use the third since
my VCRs are on the first and the laserdisc is on the second. You most likely
either flip a switch or press some button to go to the line input if there's
no channel number for it. On my TV the 80 column display is even fairly 
readable.
