Mr. Fixit question (MLI error #$56)

I get the following error message when I try to run Mr. Fixit on one of my
hard drive partitions:
MLI error #$56
Error occurred on block 45
Program aborted
This is a pretty discouraging thing to have happen with a program that is
supposed to repair hard drive problems. What does it mean? Is this partition
now unusable forever?
I have an enhanced IIe running a Rev. C RamFast; the drive is a Maxtor with
seven 32 meg partitions on it. I had just reformatted the partition in question
using Cat Doctor, copied some files to it and tested it with Mr. Fixit.
