When you're downloading with lynx, after the file is transfered to your
host, you then have 2 options: to save the file to disk on the host
system, or to transfer it at once to your system.

If you transfer it to your system, it'll be saved in the form xxx.HTML.

However, if you save it to disk on the host system, it'll be saved as
xxx.gif or xxx.jpeg.

In a way, I think it's more efficient to save downloads to your host
system, if for no other reason, Unix supports wild cards. Let's say you
download and save 10 gif graphics on your host system. Then you can just
batch download them with the "sz *gif" command. Then, of course, you can
rid of them all at once, after the download, with the "rm *gif" command
(be careful of typos!) or "rm -i *gif (that's a safety measure).

In any case, the only GS program that seems to have a problem with gif
graphics that are in the form xxx.HTML is ShowMe. But, if you change the
filename to xxx.gif then it'll load and display 'em just fine. All the
other gif displayers don't care what the file name is.
