ProTerm w/USR Sportster 14.4k question

Ok, I've been using my Sportster on this ROM 1 using a Mac cable, and
everything's been fine, even xfering...except a couple small problems.
1) most of the time when I log off a BBS I have to do it manually with
OA-H.  What can I do to correct this?
2) this may be an ANSI/VT-100 emulation, I'm not sure, but when I'm in
the MBBS editor and I scroll down if there is indented text the empty
space will get filled in by what's on other lines and it will remain
there until I remove it.

Minor problems, to be sure, but I'd like to correct them.  I'm using
PT3.1 and I saved the modem's settings to one of the banks in the modem
and recall it with an ATZ command for my init string.  I have the PT
setting set to the gs port and USR HST/HST Dual (RTS/CTS).  What can I
do?
