I can think of a reason. I've found a couple of .EXE files (most notably,
KERMIT) which refuse to execute under ProDOS. The program runs under
ProDOS once it is reconverted, but doesn't want to unpack except under
normal 48k DOS 3.3. Of course, the program would have to be reconverted
to ProDOS to run...
