Yes, although the System 6 IIGS User's Reference doesn't say specifically
to use AppleTalk, the IWem is discussed as part of printing over a network
(pp303 and 304) when a non-GS.OS application does not support the
LaserWriter.
I had the idea that since the IWemulator is a Postscript program, it could
be manually downloaded to the LaserWriter via the serial connector, which I
did, and thereafter the LaserWriter would be standing by, ready to print
in "Imagewriter mode" which it didn't.
