Which SCSI card? The original Apple card only supports 7 partitions
in total on all drives. The Apple High-Speed card theoretically
supports about 111. The RamFast should have a similarly high limit.

Yes. P8 2.x will remap SmartPort volumes to unused slots. You should
be able to work out the maximum number of partitions you can access by
counting slots without disk controllers, RAM disks, etc. and
multiplying by two. Slot 3 drive 2 is reserved for the auxiliary
memory RAM disk, so subtract one from the result.

For example, if you have one 5.25" drive controller and a standard
slot RAM card, you have five slots left. This would give you a
maximum of 10 - 1 = 9 partitions.

If you have a 3.5" controller with more than two drives (or the IIgs
SmartPort firmware with two 3.5" drives and a RAM disk) then you'll
also have to subtract the drives beyond two.

In practise, you will probably find it very difficult to use more than
9 partitions, because there is no partitioning software that can
create so many, as far as I know.
