If you are talking about the System 6.0.1 disks from
ftp.support.apple.com, then you can't do anything with them even if
you get a program which extracts DiskCopy images.

Those files have been compressed into a Macintosh self-extracting
archive. This is a Macintosh application, and you need a Macintosh to
extract it (launch the SEA from Finder). Once you have extracted it,
you will have a DiskCopy image.

There are two IIgs programs that I know of which can handle DiskCopy
images: a freeware program called "DiskCopy" (text mode user
interface), and the commercial application "Replicator" from EGO
Systems.

You can get a copy of System 6.0.1 in BinSCII/ShrinkIt format from
ftp.apple.com. (The path has been posted several times in the last few
days - it is somewhere under /dts/aii.)
