As has been mentioned previously in this (or a related) thread
the Apple III SOS format is identical to the ProDOS one. The only
difference relates to boot blocks. So the low level format is the
same for both, you just need to do a high level format. I have no
idea about the Lisa, but judging by the little that was written about
formatting ProFiles the low level format is quite possibly the same.
I used to have a 10MB Profile which had at one stage been used on an
Apple III (there were some files left on it). The ProFile is long
since dead, but the case lives on with my SCSI drive in it. They make
great SCSI cases if you have large or old higher power drives. I
installed a fan and two 50pin SCSI ports on the back, there is room
for a second SCSI drive in the same case.
