I feel like I need to speak up in support of Jerry on the hard drive
issue. Admittedly, hard drives for Apples from Quality are more
expensive than you can get elsewhere. But many of the people on here are
underestimating the value of the support they give to the users. Most of
the Apple II users here on csa2 are pretty technically savvy, otherwise
we wouldn't have had the know-how to get here. We already know how to
hook up a hard drive, format it, and install software (and if we don't,
we can always ask here). I would guess that most of Quality's customers
are not here on csa2, and are more on the computer-illiterate end of the
spectrum. Quality does a good job of making their drives "plug-n-play"
with pre-installed software, printed documentation, tutorial video, and
telephone support, all of which costs money. If you don't need that
level of support, then don't buy your drives from Quality. But don't
flame them either.
