Hmmm, while I was home visiting my mom for Christmas I tried to call the 800
number to get some help with the Apple HS SCSI and QDRIVE she just bought from
Quality. The not only refused to help me they were rude that I had the nerve
to call the 800 number without an order. After a heated discussion asking why
after spending a few hundred dollars couldn't they spring for a few dollar call
the lady just said she'd take my number and someone would call me. Two days
later I tried again. Same results. Two days later I get a message on the
machine saying if I have any problems call them at 1-toll-call (can't think of
the number right now). So we did a lot of good with that. I never did get the
problem resolved. Not I am back in Alaska and my Mom has a IIe complete with
Apple HS SCSI card and 60 meg drive that works when it wants. This is a sad
story. Yes, my Mom has a limited knowledge of her computer. But when she (and
anyone else) learns more they get better and make the market better. But if
you get this kind of tech/company support you tend NOT to call back. She
hasn't and neither have I. I purchased several things from Quality and so did
she (she also bought a 1 meg ram card). I am sure I am not the only Apple //
customer who can give you one of these stories. Then to hear you say that the
reason why support is dwindling is due to our (A2 users) lack of purchasing is
BS. You get what you put into it but we don't.
