If you are on an 8bit I believe you're stuck.
If you're on a gs, create an HFS partition to hold the
rest.

If all else fails use SilverLining or other third party MAC
SCSI utilities and, if necessary, reformat and reinitialize
the disk.

Apple's "Apple HD SC Setup" is notorious for ignoring all
drives not formatted by Apple (won't recognize third party
formatted drives).
