That's right- the ROM was replaced, and the VGC should have been
replaced at the same time (if necessary).

It _is_ ROM 01.  It is just SlotScan that calls it "ROM 2".  You will
probably find that SlotScan describes the original IIgs ROM as "ROM 1".

All "Woz" IIgses would have originally been ROM 0 machines.  There are
also later non-Woz machines that were released with ROM version 0.

Since then, most of these machines should have been upgraded to ROM 1.
It is also possible that the lid could be switched - I have a friend
who has a "Woz" lid on his ROM 3.
