I haven't seen a 4MP up close, but if it has the same connector as a
4M, the cable you need is the same one that is used to connect a
Macintosh or IIgs to a serial printer such as an ImageWriter I.

If you can't find a cable, the pinout of the connector is as follows
(looking at the back of the IIgs):

  8 7 6
  5 4 3
    2 1

The pin functions are:

1 Handshake Out
2 Handshake In
3 Transmit Data (-)
4 Ground
5 Receive Data (-)
6 Transmit Data (+): not used for an RS-232 device
7 General Purpose Input: not used for a printer
8 Receive Data (+): connect to Ground for an RS-232 device

The cable pinout would be as follows:

IIgs Printer

1 6 (DSR) [probably; not essential for a printer]
2 20 (DTR)
3 3 (RxD)
4 7 (Signal Ground)
5 2 (TxD)
6 No connection
7 No connection
8 Connect to pin 4 at the IIgs end, or pin 7 at the printer end
