QUERY: data transfer 286/IIe?

Hello Apple2ers,

If anyone can provide helpful information, or pointers to such
information, I would greatly appreciate it. I used to read this group
but haven't for several years, so forgive me if I am asking a Very
Boring Frequently Asked Question. Pointer to FAQ information on this,
if such exists, will be very welcome.

I have been using a IIe with a ZipChip (8mhz) and a RamDisk of 1 meg
for many years, mainly for WordPerfect. (Yes, there is a WordPerfect
[1.6, 1986 I believe] for IIe.) Some might sneer but I've cranked out
two dozen stories and three novels on it! It works great for writing.

We also have an old 286 in the basement that we use for dialup,
faxing, and light word processing.

Is there any relatively easy way to transfer files (presumably plain-
text) between the two, on disk? Most useful would be a method of
getting documents I've written on the IIe onto the PC so I can fax or
upload them. It would also be nice to transfer downloaded files from
the PC to the IIe.

Thanks for any help! Mail to rcb@world.std.com would be very much
appreciated.
