has anyone ported these wares to the GS?

I'm looking for WWW, Gopher, and Usenet clients for a GS.  That is, given
a dial-up thru which servers can be telnet'ed to, are there routines out
there, public domain hopefully, on which to build the programs that'll
handle these protocols, i.e. establish the connection, deal with flow
control, and look for patterns in the stream?  Is ModemWorks something
that's still in production and that'd do the trick?  Can the GS modem
port just be used as slot #2 as far as addressing?  (I realise I could
glean much from the Technotes that'd help to code from scratch,
but I can't afford an assembler or the pricey GNO or such.)  I sure haven't
found much by way of descriptions of the many files available on a2 ftp
areas.  Anyone ever port gcc packages to HyperC???


Also, anyone please give advice on doing the following with a GS:
        * viewing or at least printing postscript
        * more stuff that I'll think of later but the above should be enough
