I've solved that one looong ago. (and I am quite sure I'm not the
only one) Just a matter of (1) finding the sectors on the disk
that make up the map, (2) discovering which numbers correspond to
which map feature, (3) deciding which you want as crossable/non crossable,
and (4) making the appropriate conversions to a hires picture using some
BASIC and a sector read call.
I've got a black&white map of Ultima IV and V, and somewhere a huge
map bigger than the felt one that is a bit more detailed. (still B&W
but more than one pixel per map square)
Now a (slightly) bigger challenge is to decode the text stored on all
the disks in Ultima V. Hint hint: "undelete" ;-) ;-) ;-)
