I would prefer a stand-alone newsreader that spools to local incoming
and outgoing directories, or even connects via NNTP to another host
(the latter will likely have to wait on TCP/IP). MuGS(1) is close to
the former, but awful slow.
Gno compatibility is a must, and this implies operation and configuration
(re those spooling directories) very similar to that of Unix.
