Bigger Vulcan Drives?

I have a 40 Meg vulcan, and I was wondering has anyone gotten a
Seagate ST3144A to work on their machines?
Yes, I tried the secret AE command, it asks me if I want to create a new
partition block (ok, I can deal with that:) but after it creates
one, I try to format it (using the PM) and it pukes, saying that
it cannot read block 2:<

I also tried a Maxtor 80 meg drive on it, and the computer couldn't
even BOOT with in connected.

Has anyone ever worked on expanding the vulcan? do you have
model numbers of HDs that work with it?
