About patching QuickDraw, a somewhat knowledgable source had this to say.
"Patching Finder is only part of what you'd have to do-all programs assume screen size and resolution because there are only two choices. There isn't even a way to ask QD II what the screen size is, so patching it won't help. Too little, 
too late in this case, I think." (Matt D. 10/27/94)
Now, if Bill H. has got a rewrite of QD II from the Avatar project (He did
say that they had gotten the toolbox ready in his II Alive interview) then 
perhaps there is a way to do this. I am hoping that Matt is wrong about
the possibilities here, because I know that a lot of us are hoping for
the increased resolution and new possibilities for the GS that TurboRez/
Second Sight represent.
