For Apple IIe, Apple IIc and Apple IIgs folks: Apple Writer II has a
typewriter mode. Load up the word processor, type CTRL-q then i and
then whatever you type will go directly to the printer. (Some printers
won't print anything until you hit RETURN because they buffer lines.)
When done printing (I mean typing), type ESC and q.

No, it's not a BASIC program, but since Apple Writer II is now "free-
ware" and is arguably the most powerful word processor ever made for
the Apple IIe, IIc and IIgs, it deserves a place in your toolbox.
