Another dumb question...3.5" drives.

Hi there!  I KNOW I should KNOW this, but it is escaping me at this point.

Is it possible to have more than 2 3.5" apple drives on the smartport on the
GS??????

Right now I have 2 Apple 3.5" drives and the 5.25" drive daisy chained and
that works well.  When I put the third 3.5" drive in the chain (5.25" still]
on end of chain) the Finder and GNO (aka GS/OS) is only recognizing the first
two 3.5" drives in the chain and then the 5.25" drive......

Maybe I am forgetting something.. ????
